Biography
Associate Professor at the University of São Paulo, previously Associate Professor at the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo, where she was Vice-head of the English Department. She was general coordinator of USP’s English without Borders Program, coordinator of English Language, and Vice-dean of the Faculty of Philosophy, Languages and Literature, and Human Sciences’s Interdepartmental Language Center (CIL) and President of FFLCH’s Human Rights Commission. Currently, she is coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in English Language and Literary Studies and she is Vice-head of the Department of Modern Languages. PhD in Semiotics and General Linguistics from the University of São Paulo, postdoc from the University of Liège, under the supervision of Belgium’s Royal Academy’s Professor Emeritus, Jean-Marie Klinkenberg. Her main research interests are cultural stereotypes, social passions and interactions, rhetorical aspects and sensitive components’ role in the signification process.
