Professor at the Postgraduate Program in English Language and Literary Studies of the University of São Paulo - USP and at the Postgraduate Program in Science Literature of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro - UFRJ. Adjunct professor in the Anglo-Germanic Languages Department of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro - UFRJ. His research and publications, in Brazil and abroad, address the following themes: Ossian; theory, history and historiography of the novel in Great Britain; the British novel in Brazil; novel and nation; novel and the European Union; Scottish novel; literary genres throughout the 18th century (1660-1832).
